Radyr & District Good Neighbour Scheme is keen to recruit more volunteers (and clients) from Danescourt.
Radyr & District Good Neighbour Scheme is a small, independent charity which was started in 1988. Most Good Neighbour Schemes in Cardiff are run by Age Concern, the Radyr & District Good Neighbour Scheme is only 1 of 2 which are independent. Most of the work is done by volunteers and it is run by a small committee. The scheme runs 2 lunch clubs and a friendship group and tries to help the elderly and house bound with neighbourly tasks - local transport, shopping, befriending, letter writing e.t.c. (subject to volunteers being available).
The scheme does not offer personal care, gardening or administer medication. There is no charge the services , although grateful clients often make a donation, which can qualify for Gift Aid.
