Work to stabilise embankment in Radyr Court Road (Spooky Lane) to start towards the end of February

The Council have identified a short area to the northern side of Radyr Court Road (Pedestrian section between Danescourt Way and the river Taff) that is eroding, causing the ground, trees and vegetation to become unstable.

In order to make this area safe it is proposed to construct a small wall at the base of the slope and re-profile the slope.  This will require the trees and vegetation to be cut back in the affected area prior to the work, the area will be re-planted on completion of the ground works.

To ensure that the scheme has the least impact on the local environment, independent Ecologists and Arboricultural Consultants have been consulted and their recommendations, including replanting trees, have been included in the scheme.

It is anticipated that the tree works will be carried out toward the end of February, so as to prevent any issues with nesting birds.
